Applications: Environment.

MTI’s advanced analysis and services are applicable to the following environmental systems:

Electrostatic Precipitators

The Problem – Poor particle collection due to changes in fuel characteristics.

Electrostatic precipitators have three essential functions that include:

  • Charging the suspended particles
    • Particles subjected to electric field
  • Particles migrate from the gas stream to the collection surface
  • Collected particles removed from the collection surface and deposited in hopper

MTI’s Solution – Identify the problem through advanced fuel analysis and develop predictions to determine the particle size and composition of particles. Based on fuel analysis, the resistivity and cohesivity of the ash can be determined.

The fuel analysis will provide the size and composition distribution of the particles. The composition of the particles is used to determine the resistivity and cohesivity of the ash.
