Fuels Analysis – MTI provides advanced analysis of fuel characteristics, specifically the measurement of ash-forming components in coal, biomass, and petroleum coke, for determining effects on power-system performance. This enables our clients to understand how certain coals can impact system performance.
Metals and Ceramics Analysis – We also provide analysis in support of manufacturing-process quality control, and reducing erosion and corrosion. This analysis is conducted through high-resolution imaging, elemental mapping, and quantitative analysis.
Ash and Deposit Analysis – This analysis involves characterization of entrained ashes and deposits, specifically by determining the phases that are present, interactions of various deposited ash particles, degrees of melting, and other slag characteristics. By identifying components and conditions responsible for deposit formation, MTI can help clients make steps toward preventing future deposit formation and enhancing system performance.
