Production of Germanium and Gallium From Coal-Based Byproducts
Germanium and gallium are very important elements used in advanced electronics, optoelectronics, fiber optics, solar cells, computer chips, and other applications. Microbeam Technologies, Inc (MTI) is currently demonstrating the Ge and Ga pyrometallurgical processes at bench/pilot-scale. These operations will look to provide kilograms of Ge and Ga concentrate, oxides, and pure metals for verification by downstream partners.

This tool is based on the mineral composition, type, and abundance in the coal feedstock and the temperature profile within the boiler, providing a valuable tool for identifying coal feedstocks with high potential for cenosphere formation.
